YK Osiris Issues Public Apology To Rapper Sukihana For Inappropriate Actions, Meek Mill Defends Him, ‘He’s A Good Kid’

YK Osiris publicly apologized to rapper Sukihana on Wednesday after catching much flak for a viral video capturing him forcefully kissing her despite her protest.

The rapper posted the apology to Instagram, explaining he “misread” the moment when attempting to be playful.

“I want to publicly offer my sincerest apology to Sukihana,” the apology read. “In an attempt to be playful, I misread the moment and violated Sukihana’s boundaries. I understand the importance of my consent, and I am embarrassed by my behavior. I take full responsibility and have made multiple attempts to apologize. I have the utmost admiration for Sukihana, and it was never my intention to disrespect her.”

Sukihana hasn’t publicly addressed the apology, but she quietly deleted her Twitter account after posting that she was hurt and “scared to stand up” for herself, according to Say Cheese!

As Sis2Sis recently reported, Sukihana and YK Osiris were part of filming The Crew League‘s (TCL) season 5. The footage that surfaced showed YK Osiris rubbing Sukihana’s shoulders before going in for a kiss by grabbing her face, tilting it back and leaning in. The “Shopping Spree” rhymer attempted to avoid his kiss by moving away.

He tried again, and Sukihana audibly screamed, “No.”

The “Run It Up” musician laughed the entire time, but social media users didn’t find it funny. They criticized him for not taking the hint and violating Sukihana.

Following the incident, fellow rapper Meek Mill demonstrated minimum support for Sukihana but did the most for YK Osiris, pleading with the internet to stop tearing down the rapper in a few tweets.

“Don’t do this to him, please. [He’s] a good kid…Just slap him, and he gotta let you, something,” Meek Mill wrote. “We don’t need our young bulls [torn] down for mistakes in this hyper-sexual era…I support Sukihanna…hold that s**t down on some street s**t.”

In a subsequent tweet, he practically victimized YK Osiris and discouraged the internet from publicly shaming Black men.

“Y’all drawing a big line between men and women nowadays on social …it’s getting bad in the Black community! All this internet superficial shaming, judging, gaslighting only hurt us people, and it’s a lot of people who need strength, especially young Black men,” Meek Mill wrote. “He might gotta rumble Suki brother, anything but this same internet tear each other down stuff! Suki can do what she wants; she feels violated…but let me mind my business.”

He also tweeted, “And protect Suki! Osiri, you a dh! Go back to church. Stop following the heathens.”

Meek Mill doesn’t seem to understand that it’s not about tearing a Black man down but holding him accountable and calling out what is wrong.

There’s a possibility that YK Osiris didn’t hear Sukihana say “No,” but her moving away both times should’ve shown him she wasn’t for it. He’s a grown man who should’ve known his actions were inappropriate.

Many people also commented that Sukihana asked for it due to her public image and music. That’s equivalent to saying women wouldn’t be raped if they refrained from dressing a certain way.

Curtailing Sukihana’s traumatic experience isn’t the answer. Blaming her for a grown man’s decision isn’t the answer. But holding people accountable to ensure it doesn’t occur again and showing the victim support are the answers.
