Snowfall actor Damson Idris proclaimed he had nightmares daily for a month after summoning the devil for inspiration.
His confession came during a sitdown discussion with fellow actors Jeff Bridges, Kieran Culkin, Michael Imperioli, Pedro Pascal and Evan Peters for The Hollywood Reporter’s Drama Actors Roundtable.
Idris’ character Franklin Saint has done some crazy things in the John Singleton-produced FX series. But it wasn’t always easy for the 31-year-old to perform in the crazy moments due to a mental blockage. But he refused to allow it to deter him from doing his job.
The actor made it clear he would go to any lengths to ensure he performed his actor duties exceptionally after revealing he called on the devil for help.
“I remember sometime — we do 10 episodes for my show (Snowfall) — in this last season, I was hitting a block…I was like, ‘Oh, I’m not doing it right.'”
He continued, “So, I went in the corner, and then I was looking at the wall, and I was like, ‘Come on, Devil. Come on, Devil. Come to me’…I had to do something crazy. [I] had nightmares for a month…I had nightmares every day. I just felt that energy.”
Idris said he had to pray to get rid of “it” and called his mom for help.
“That stuff is real,” he said.
