After 29 years, Ayanna Williams who held the Guinness World Record for having the longest fingernails finally cut them off.

According to CNN, the Texan’s nails measured 24 feet, and 0.7 inches in her final measurement before getting them cut off this weekend.

In a video, Williams filmed the journey– bidding her long claws adieu, “It’s almost over babies, I’ll miss you guys.”

She also said, “I have this thing that I do with children when they come up to me and they say ‘are those your nails.’ And I say ‘yeah,’ and then I ask and I say ‘How old are you?’ and they say ‘I’m ten or I’m seven,’ and I say ‘Guess how old my nails are? They’re like 28 – 29 years! They’re older than you!'”

Dr. Readinger, a dermatologist in Fort Worth, Texas, cut her extensive appendages.

She expressed how she’ll redefine beauty for herself after getting the nails removed and said, “With or without my nails, I will still be the queen,”

“My nails don’t make me, I make my nails!”

Alright, queen!

Williams told Ripley’s Believe it or Not that she only plans to grow her nails out to about six inches. The museum agreed to display her trimmed nails at their museum in Orlando, Florida. 

“Do what you want to do! Let everyone be themselves,” Williams told the museum. “If you want to grow your nails long, do it!”

The woman’s nail game prohibited her from doing daily household chores like washing dishes or putting bed sheets on a bed.

Ripley’s reported that after her procedure, Williams leaped from her chair and immediately began doing things she had been unable to do for a decade, like texting with ease, quickly hopping into a car, and opening doors without any fear. 

The woman with the record for longest fingernails in history was Lee Redmond, at 28 feet long which she lost in a car accident in 2009.
