Will Smith didn’t watch Chris Rock’s Netflix Special, Selective Outrage, but people were in his ear telling him what was said. Smith is not happy.
During Rock’s special, he finally opened up about his thoughts on the infamous Oscar slap that occurred almost a year ago, but not without getting his sweet revenge.
The New Jack City actor implied that Smith slapping was due toith his anger regarding his wife’s, Jada Pinkett-Smith, “entanglement” with August Alsina — revealed in 2020.
“His wife was f**king his son’s friend,” Rock said during his show. “I normally would not talk about this s**t. But for some reason, these n***as put that s**t on the internet.”
He continued, implying that Willy from Philly should have had hands for his wife, “She hurt him way more than he hurt me. And who does he hit? Me.”
According to Entertainment Tonight, a source said Smith didn’t find Rock’s jokes about him funny.
“Will is embarrassed and hurt by what Chris said about him and his family in his Netflix special,” the source said. “He didn’t watch it, but he had people tell him what Chris said. It’s everywhere when you look online, and on social media, so Will and Jada have seen comments about it.”
The source continued, “Will apologized to Chris and would like Chris to let it go. Will has worked on himself, and the Oscars ban him for ten years. He feels like that’s enough and wants Chris to move on so that he and everyone else can too.”
Smith apologized to Rock several times, and his team told him he wasn’t ready to hear it. So, Smith went public with an apology.
In the Netflix special, the 58-year-old funnyman also said that he watched the Hitch actor’s latest film, Emancipation, to watch him get whipped. Smith was mad about Rock’s words and didn’t like that Netflix greenlighted Rock’s special. Although the comedian took shots at Smith, much of his anger was seemingly directed at the actor’s wife.
“Will is also upset that Netflix was a part of this and thinks Chris insulting Jada again is below the belt,” the source continued. “He is upset that Netflix gave Chris this platform to share these messages and thinks it’s distasteful.”
