Will Smith Dances To Whitney Houston Song With His Mom For 85th Birthday

Will Smith, 53, and his mother, Caroline Bright, danced to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” for her 85th birthday.

On Monday, Jan. 17, Smith shared a clip of the beautiful moment on his Instagram page with a caption that said,

“85 Today! Happy Bday Mom-Mom. Let’s dance our way to 100.”

Under the post, numerous celebrities, including his former Fresh Prince costar, Karyn Parsons.

“Happy birthday, Caroline!” she wrote.

Other fellow actors sent their sincere birthday wishes beneath Smith’s video.

“Happy birthday mom!!!” commented Jamie Foxx.

“Happy birthday,” said Octavia Spencer.

“sweet” Cedric the Entertainer wrote next to four clapping emojis and a heart.

Legendary DJ and Smith’s former musical partner, Jazzy Jeff, also popped in to leave some birthday wishes.

“Happy Bday Mom!!!!” he commented.

Never one to shy away from discussing embarrassing moments in his life, the Golden Globe Award-winning actor shared that his mom caught him having sex at 16 years old in his memoir Will.

“As a teenager, outside of physical injury, you cannot feel worse than having your mother catch you and your girlfriend doggy-style on her kitchen floor,” he wrote. “I’m still not exactly sure why I did what I did that night. To this day, I have no idea what I was thinking. Of all the experiences I am sharing in this book, this is the individual moment of personal behavior that makes the least sense to me.”

Will debuted on bookshelves and in stores on Nov. 9, 2021.

A year prior, Smith mentioned the awkward incident in another Instagram post dedicated to Bright for Mother’s Day.

“Happy Mommy’s Day, Mommy! And Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers of the world,” the caption said. Then, he served a little bit of tea about the weird situation. “Oh… and Mom, I’m sorry about that time when I was a senior in high school and you caught me in the kitchen with my girlfriend. But, really you should’ve been asleep.”
