Trick Daddy went viral in the worst way after claiming that world-renowned singer, dancer and entertainer Beyoncé “can’t sing,” which led to his inevitable sting from the BeyHive. And while things have dialed down since, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson took to her Instagram page Monday to let everyone know that her daughter has always been that girl.
The former momager shared a video from DJ Swivel, a sound engineer known for his work on Beyoncé’s 2011 album 4, showing the Houston-native copying notes from the guitar solo in “I Care.”

Referring to the technique as a “guitar solo that she mimics with her voice,” DJ Swivel revealed in the clip that he hadn’t heard any singer do that before. He then isolated the guitar track along with Beyoncé’s voice recording, where she can be heard singing along to the guitar as she hits the ballad’s famous high notes.
