‘Wendy Williams Show’ Set to Return Without Host

According to a post on October 12 from the show, The Wendy Williams Show has officially announced that it will be premiering its new season on October 18 without its host, Wendy Williams.

The show’s Instagram announced that it’s getting ready to go live next week regardless of recent events with Williams.

The program posted a statement and spoke on Williams’ ongoing health issues, saying that she needs some time before she can get back to work.

“The Wendy Williams Show will start airing originals on Monday, October 18, with an exciting lineup of guest hosts and panels to be announced shortly,” the statement read.

“Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition. It has been determined that more time is needed before she is able to return to her live hosting duties.”

“Wendy is a valued and stalwart member of the Debmar-Mercury family and has been so for 12 years. We want her health to be her top priority. As soon as she’s ready, she will be back in her treasured purple chair.
We very much appreciate the respect for Wendy’s privacy, as well as all the good wishes from her fans, station partners and advertiser,” the statement continued.

The Wendy Williams Show was originally set to premiere on September 20 but was moved back to October 4 and is now set for October 18.

As previously reported, Williams was diagnosed with COVID-19 and later suffered from a mental health crisis, leading to her checking herself into a mental health facility. Williams was reportedly supposed to be well enough to return by the October 4 premiere date but ultimately is still dealing with her health conditions.
