Wendy Williams has reportedly received an open invitation to appear on ABC’s hit daytime show, The View, as a guest co-host.
According to Radar, they offered the media mogul a spot on the show’s roundtable where she could appear whenever she wanted.
“The buzz within ABC is Wendy could well be joining The View,” an insider told them, they said.
“There is an offer for her to appear on the show whenever she wants. The open invitation has made it very clear that when Wendy wants to give her first TV interview since losing her own show, there will always be a seat at the table for her.”
Another source reportedly told Radar that producers of The View are aware of how much the public wanted to hear what she had to say.
“Producers know how much people want to hear from Wendy.”
Williams has been dealing with health issues from her Graves Disease condition and thyroid problems, which led to the cancellation of her hit Fox talk show, The Wendy Williams Show. Comedian Sherri Shepherd, a former co-host on The View, took over its 13th season and will continue to do so as it transitions into her new show, Sherri.
The New Jersey native has also been battling her bank after they froze her assets on claims that she was mentally unfit to manage her account. In addition, her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, recently sued her show’s production company for wrongful termination.
However, none of that has stopped Williams’ money train, as several daytime show producers, including from the Today Show and Good Morning America, reportedly offered her spots on their programs.
“But what makes The View opportunity so interesting is that this interview could open up the door to her joining the show on a recurring basis,” a source told Radar about her invitation to host. Another source from the ABC network reportedly told the outlet that it would be a test to see how well she would get along with the other veteran hosts if she appeared on the show.
“It would be a chemistry test for Wendy with Whoopi [Goldberg] and the ladies,” the anonymous person reportedly said. “It would not be the first time The View snapped up a new co-host who had previously had their own show.”
