Wendy Williams In Psychiatric Hospital After “Drinking Every Day” and “In Need Of Serious Help”

Daytime show host Wendy Williams was recently checked into a psychiatric hospital in New York after reportedly “drinking every day” and is “in need of serious help.”

According to what a source told The Sun, The Wendy Williams Show has been moved back by two weeks after the talk show host reportedly “was drinking every day, even while filming the show.”

The source also mentioned that staffers of the show reported having smelled liquor on her.

“Everyone is an enabler because they don’t want to lose their job. They see it, they know it, they smelled the liquor.”

Williams had previously publicly opened up about her struggles with sobriety after having checked into a sober living house in 2019 following her divorce from ex-husband Kevin Hunter.

Despite having gotten help in the past, the source said, “Wendy drinks every day, and the only time she was sober was when she was at the sober house.”

The person added, “Her staffers are worried, but no one is ever going to speak up because they don’t want to lose their jobs.”

“She’s an alcoholic. A bad one. She doesn’t need a talk show. She needs help,” the source said. “No one can tell her ‘No.’ People are afraid to speak up.”

Another insider told the outlet in a previous scenario that, “The staff has been back for weeks now anticipating to have the show return at the end of the month,” referring to her popular talk show.

“Now, with the premiere pushed back, staff are increasingly concerned about the fate of the show.”

Williams was recently taken to a local New York City psychiatric hospital after police reported a 57-year-old female needing psychiatric services from her building.

Earlier this month, it was announced that she would take time away from promotional events amid “ongoing health issues and further evaluations.”

The outlet reported that a statement from the show read, “She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week, but can’t wait to be back in her purple chair on Monday, September 20th for the 13th season premiere.”
