Wendy Williams broke her silence regarding her son’s eviction via her publicist, Shawn Zanotti.

Sis2Sis reported that Williams’ 22-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr., was evicted from his Miami apartment after falling behind on rent drastically. Williams put over $100,000 towards the $2 million apartment, and the two agreed to Williams paying a full year of rent in advance, from March 2021 to February, while Hunter Jr. paid the rent after the one-year lease.

However, according to Hunter Jr., Williams’ bank accounts froze in January. The 22-year-old increasingly became behind on rent, leading to the eviction. He also was slapped with a lawsuit claiming he owed about $70,000 in back rent.

Zanotti spoke on Williams’ behalf, claiming that her son’s eviction wasn’t due to her “losing her fortune” but because of her conservatorship. Williams can’t release any funds without approval.

“At this point, Wendy is under a conservatorship that was ordered by a federal New York judge,” Zanotti said in a statement to The Neighborhood Talk. “All expenses must be cleared by her guardian via the courts. There is a process where her expenses have to go through being verified and cleared before being paid.”

Zanotti continued, “Wendy’s hands are tied and there is really nothing she can do right now. It’s a process that tends to go beyond the deadline of certain invoices. She, honestly, can’t do anything about that. It’s really sad how some outlets take headlines and misconstrue information just to get clicks and likes.”

Williams’ son wasn’t the only one going through it. His father, Kevin Hunter Sr., claimed to be falling behind on bills due to Williams; financial conservatorship.

“I have fallen behind on most of my bills,” he said. “I currently live in a community that requires payments to the homeowners association, and I’m behind on that bill. If the homeowners association fees are not paid foreclosure will soon follow.”
