We Can’t Have. Sh*t: Black Twitter Cooks Kim Kardashian After She Drops An Almost-Identical Name To Lori Harvey’s Skincare Line

Kim Kardashian announced the launch of her new skincare line, SKKN, and Black women accused her of stealing from Lori Harvey.

According to Page Six, the reality star filed to trademark Skkn by Kim in March 2021. The name of her line and the minimalist packaging looks and sounds eerily similar to Lori’s skincare brand Skn.

“I’m excited to finally introduce to you SKKN BY KIM, a rejuvenating nine-product skincare ritual that I have developed from start to finish,” the 41-year-old tweeted.

“I’ve been so privileged to learn about skin and skin care over the years from the world’s top dermatologists and estheticians, and every bottle from my new line is filled with the knowledge I’ve accumulated along the way.”

After revealing the brand, Black women cooked the wannabe over her post.

One user said, “SKKN by Kim?? What happened to SKN by Lori Harvey??? One thing the Kardashians gon do is take from black women, chileee.”

Though it’s unclear when Harvey started developing her line, she mentioned it during Vogue’s “Beauty Secrets” segment in May 2021. Lori dropped her line in October after announcing the concept by creating

an official Instagram page for the brand in July.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Kardashian has been accused of stealing fashion or beauty ideas from Black women. In July 2021, the 41-year-old received a cease-and-desist letter from Beauty Concepts LLC, a brand that has used a similar name since 2017.

Cyndie Lunsford, the black-owned business owner, claimed she filed a trademark for SKKN+ on March 28, two days before Kardashian issued her paperwork, TMZ reported. In the letter, Lunsford explained that she runs a beauty spa that uses the SKKN+ products, and adding “by Kim” would confuse her customers since they both have akin brand names.

Lunsford recently opened a location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and uses @skknplus for advertising the business on social media.
