NeNe Leakes, of Real Housewives of Atlanta fame, shared some devastating news about her husband Gregg Leakes’ current battle with cancer. The announcement came after reports emerged that NeNe had been rude to a customer at her new lounge, “Linnethia,” in Atlanta. 

Over the weekend, NeNe addressed lounge patrons regarding the accusation. The entertainer stepped up to the mic and proceeded to divulge shocking news about Gregg’s dim outlook. 

“I hope you guys are enjoying the lounge tonight,” Nene said before asking the deejay to cut the music. “Please, I’m asking everybody in this lounge. I had no idea that I was going to walk in here and make this announcement. But I want to say this to you. I want to be at peace.”

“When you see me, and you see my son, give us a lot of love, okay? My husband is transitioning to the other side. I’m not in the mood to say, ‘Happy Birthday’ to you. You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now,” she continued.

NeNe added, “This is our business, so when people approach us and say, ‘you’re rude,’ because you don’t want to say ‘happy birthday,’ my husband is at home dying. So, please give us some respect. Give us some love, okay? You see, my son, right here, he’s hurting, I’m hurting. We walked in here because we have to walk in here ‘cause we have this business, but my husband is losing his life at this very moment.”

 

Siister2Sister previously reported that Gregg had been released from the hospital after a six-week stint. Nene] did not indicate if hospice has gotten involved.

Gregg was first diagnosed with stage-3 colon cancer in 2018. The stress of her husband’s disease almost took a toll on the couple’s marriage. 

NeNe’s latest update about Gregg’s condition was a post on Instagram that seemed to sum up her emotional state.

Praying hands, a broken heart emoji, and the words  “broken” were all written on the post that garnered almost 175,000 likes.

 

The Leakes were married in 1997 and divorced in 2011. NeNe and Gregg exchanged vows again, after reconciling in 2013.

About retying the knot with her beau, NeNe said, “I’ve been married twice, and both times it’s been to your ass because I believe there’s truly a one and only! You are that for me! Happy Anniversary Gregg Leakes! You have proven that 2 is better than 1 #bestweddingever.”
