Video footage showing R&B crooner August Alsina refusing to shake fellow R&B singer Tory Lanez’s hands before alleged assault has surfaced.

Chicago comedian Skinbone released a video of August and Tory’s encounter, which reportedly took place backstage at comedian Rip Micheals’ comedy show on Sept. 17. In the footage shared via Instagram on Sept. 19, Tory is seen extending his hand to August, but the Louisiana native looks and keeps it pushing. An alleged spectator then walks up to seemingly bewildered Tory to dap him up before the “It Doesn’t Matter” singer talk about the incident to his team.

Afterward, the video showed a woman shouting, “Don’t do it. You already shot Megan!” as the Canadian native headed towards where August was walking. Moments later, Tory was seen looking irritated and being escorted into another area with his team. He allegedly gave out high-fives as the cameraman reportedly talked about him punching August.

“You knocked his ass out?” one person is heard asking in the video. “Tory said he just knocked August Alsina[‘s] a*s right out. One punch crushed him.”

Following the alleged situation, August posted images of himself looking bloodied in an elevator via Instagram and explained his side of the story–a story that quickly went viral on social media.

“As I’m exiting the building after the show last night, A 4’11 sized leprechaun ran down on me w/ 8 oversized security n****s, whom I greeted each individually upon their walk up as they tried to press me,” he wrote. “Whole time, I’m one deep. No security. Tory continues to ask w/ a broken ego why I didn’t dap him up, I go on to tell him.. I was a fan of him and didn’t understand him speaking on my business publicly In the past, because I don’t know him or ever met him until last night. So when he spoke it caught me off guard because of his past actions, I assumed he didn’t like me, that’s all. Not to mention, with my history of health & condition just recently overcoming being paralyzed, my doctor directed me not to compromise my health while out on road and shake as less hands as possible due to corona & monkeypox.”

Tory caught wind of the post and reportedly responded via his Instagram stories, saying he “didn’t know what everyone was talking about.”

“I don’t know what everybody talking about, but I’ve been in the studio,” he wrote. “I’m not into anything negative … I’ve been working on my self … And being a better person.”

He later denied claims of assaulting August during a call with famed media personality DJ Akademiks.

“I don’t even know what the kid is talking about,” he told Akademiks about the alleged assault. “I don’t know if he is doing promo, I don’t know what that nigga is talking about.”
