OG Basketball Wives star Jennifer Williams and newer cast member Clayanna Warthen got into a heated fight in a viral clip while filming for the show’s latest season. On June 22, the clip went up on Instagram and had fans sharing their opinion on the conflict.
The video, taken by an onlooker in what looks to be a lunch restaurant, featured the women loudly arguing. Although what started the conflict is unclear, many pointed out Warthen’s brutal comeback at Williams.
Warthen said, “You were married ten years ago. Ten years ago! Ten years ago! Ten years ago! You’re irrelevant. You’re irrelevant. Move on!”
The video showed Williams attempting to walk away. Still, her newer co-star followed her through the restaurant and yelled more insults at her about her formally toxic marriage as she tried to leave the altercation.
Warthen continued, “You were married ten years ago! No kids, no history, no nothing! Nothing! Girl bye! You’re irrelevant; you’re irrelevant! You’re hanging on by a thread! By a thread! You’re nothing.”
Social media fans were split on whether Warthen was too hard on Williams or not.
One fan wrote, “So Jen got out without baggage & learned her lesson? Sounds like every woman’s dream life,”
“Sounds like a win to me! She got out of that toxic marriage with no attachments. Good for her.”
Another commenter added, “So was she supposed to have kids with a man that was cheating? Y’all say anything to use as a dig against other women…” and “Ouch! The world really puts a lot on a black woman being married and having kids as a mark of success. It doesn’t matter how bad the husband is, either.”
However, some users instead defended Warthen’s words.
“Y’all missing the point she is saying moving on and stop eating off this show when she ain’t been a wife in 10 years she had no kids, so there’s no history for her to hold on to, to continue to be here on this show, but that went over y’all heads she don’t even date ball players no more. Most of they ahh need to let it go.”
