Philly rapper Meek Mill caught smoke from Kobe Bryant’s grieving widow over lyrics he wrote for a new track.
On Monday, Vanessa Bryant addressed Meek Mill on social media about the offensive lyrics saying they were “extremely insensitive and disrespectful.”
“I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”
In the new song titled “Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe),” Meek Mill said, “If I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it’d be another Kobe.”
Meek Mill tweeted an apology to Bryant on Tuesday, but not before posting a tweet that appeared to disregard Bryant’s justified outrage.
“I’m going back savage in this s**t…F**k ya feelings,” the cryptic tweet said.
He later penned via Twitter, “I apologized to her in private earlier today, not to the public…Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman! If you care about someone grieving, change the subject!”

You should never have created the subject! You apologized after you said what you said in the music and then said “f” her feelings. 🤷🏽♀️ smh

She asked us politely not to talke about the crash,or the images of that day. Using Kobe’s name in that context was foul bro…shouldn’t have started the subject in the first place.
