UPDATE: Tasha K Breaks Silence After Losing Lawsuit To Cardi B

Youtuber Latasha Transrina Kebe, aka Tasha K, addressed her audience on Wednesday for the first time since Cardi B won the $1 million defamation lawsuit against her.

After two weeks of deliberation, a Georgia jury ordered Kebe and her company, Kebe Studios LLC, to pay the “WAP” artist more than 2.8 million in punitive damages and legal fees during a court hearing on Monday, Jan. 24, The Grio reported

.

According to court documents, the blogger must pay an additional $1.25 million in general damages and medical fees to the 29-year-old, totaling $4.05 million.

In the video, Kebe took several breaths and long pauses before sharing her thoughts on the years-long legal battle with Cardi.

“These last four years fighting this conspiracy case, have been extremely challenging,” Kebe said. “And yet, I wouldn’t change a single thing about it.”

“The verdict handed down on Monday was no shock to myself, my husband or my legal team.” “I’ve learned so much. Every moment was incredibly powerful and insightful,” Kebe told her YouTube followers on Wednesday. “We’re prepared, and we were prepared, for this challenge from the beginning.”

She continued, “We called bluff against a machine that wanted to bully me for not wavering from my personal beliefs. A machine that has corporate interests to protect prostitution, drug use, promiscuity and to glorify the violence that wreaks havoc in our society and in our neighborhood.”

In the video, Kebe said the trial “[made] me out to be an angry and malicious woman,” and the outcome was an infringement on her First Amendment rights. She stated that “my case will set a precedent for all future media.”

As Sis2Sis previously reported, the Bronx native initially filed a defamation lawsuit against the 39-year-old in April 2019 after claiming Cardi contracted herpes and worked as a prostitute. However, Kebe responded with a $3 million lawsuit stating that Cardi threatened her while going through a “high-risk pregnancy.”

In 2021, a judge dismissed Kebe’s lawsuit due to lack of evidence after the Youtuber claimed she suffered emotional stress from the ordeal.

According to Page Six, the verdict can be challenged by Kebe’s legal team.
