UPDATE: Takeoff’s Funeral Set To Be Held At Atlanta’s State Farm Arena

Migos rapper Takeoff’s funeral is set to be held at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.

According to WSBTV, Takeoff’s funeral will be held at the State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta on Nov. 11. The service is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. with a eulogy provided by New Mercies Christian Church pastor Jesse Curney III. However, it’s currently unknown if it’ll be open to the public.

As Sis2Sis previously reported, Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, passed away after being gunned down at 810 Billiards & Bowling on Nov. 1. Authorities said the shooting took place outside the downtown Houston venue, where 40 to 50 people gathered on the third-floor balcony for a private party.

In alleged video footage of the incident, obtained by TMZ, rapper Quavo, Takeoff’s uncle, was seen pleading for help after the tragic shooting. When Houston Police officers and emergency officials with the Houston Fire Department arrived at the scene, the musician was pronounced dead. His representative then later confirmed his passing.

The Georgia rapper’s death sent a shockwave around the world, as he was famously a part of the trailblazing hip-hop trio, Migos.

“R.I.P. @1YoungTakeoff [heart broken emojis],” veteran Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane tweeted in reaction to Takeoff’s death.

“Long live my brother Take [heartbreak, bowing head, and crossing fingers emojis],” producer Metro Boomin also tweeted.

“Takeoff forever Legendary,” rapper future additionally tweeted.

Takeoff, Quavo and their relative, rapper Offset, formed their generation-defining group in Georgia back in 2008. They rose to prominence after releasing their hit 2013 song “Versace,” which led them to dominate the rap and pop charts for years to come.

In honor of the beloved entertainer, a mural of him was recently unveiled on the Atlanta BeltLine. So far, no arrests have been made in connection to his death.
