Memphis rapper GloRilla recently responded to criticism after only offering $550 to be her weekly assistant with a list of daily duties.
GloRilla first posted a flyer searching for an assistant to help with her “busy” schedule on Dec. 16. The flyer indicated that she’s been needing someone with “excellent communication and interpersonal skills” who can “manage calendar and schedule meetings, scheduling and maintaining the non-work related calendar of all events/appointments.”
Most importantly, the post noted that she’s been looking for someone who is “Educated” but specifically “high school diploma level” as she didn’t graduate college herself.
At the end of the flyer, it indicated that anyone hired would be paid $550/per week for their “responsibilities.”
As per usual, Black Twitter had something to say about GloRilla’s post and said the amount of money being offered wasn’t enough for the duties required.
“When you can’t afford the SZA tour tickets because you a personal assistant for Glorilla: [Cynthia Bailey via RHOA clip],” @ronthacreator tweeted.

“Glorilla, before I work for less than $80 a day to be somebody’s personal assistant, I’ll sell blood & plasma! That’s an around the clock job! $550 a week is almost working for free! Did we step into the 90s? [Laughing emoji],” @MrJeromeTrammel said.

“People are talimbout ‘You gotta pay your dues to work in entertainment’ and ‘If they 18, live at home and reside in the south this pay is fine’ re:Glorilla personal assistant. All that tells me is if they were in a similar position they too would underpay their employees,” @AsToldByTunde wrote.

The following day, Glorilla made another Facebook post saying she never asked “nunna you millionaires” to be her assistant; only those who need the opportunity.
“I never asked nunna you millionaires dat make dat ina day to be my assistant. I’m talking about da people who want an opportunity!!!” the rapper wrote about the criticism.
She even shared that she was once a “slave” while working at Amazon, where she was paid “$550 ina week 40hrs.”
