Tyson Beckford Says He Almost Contacted The Crips And Bloods On Kanye West After Ye Had People Confront Him

Iconic male supermodel and actor Tyson Beckford said he almost contacted the Crips and Bloods on Kanye West after Ye had people confront him.

In a throwback episode of Vlad TV, which aired on Mar. 21, Beckford recounted the confrontation that, he said, went down at Ralph Lauren’s 50th-anniversary event in NYC on Sept. 7, 2018. West didn’t make any eye contact with him as they sat across from each other at Lauren’s star-studded dinner, but the supermodel didn’t think much of it.

“Sitting across the table was [Kanye West], so I looked at him but…you know when you try to look at somebody [and] try to get them to give you eye contact? I wasn’t getting that. So, I said okay, buddy, don’t want no problems,” he told Vlad.

However, after going to the restroom, he said that one of the rapper’s associates tried to press him. At the time, he previously had a beef with Kim Kardashian, who was still married to Ye that year, over her implying that he was homosexual.

“So, I go to the bathroom, and one of his boys comes up to me saying something. I said, ‘Look, man, y’all don’t want it. Not here, not my city, not happening,’ because [all it takes is] a phone call. I could have about 50 Bloods, and 25 Crips come down on these fools. It’s like, yo, why? For some he-said, she-said? Nah, I ain’t stooping low for that.”

Beckford added that he was upset about the whole situation.

“A lot of people really can’t speak for me, but there are some that will though like, ‘Yo that man ain’t like that…don’t wake the giant, Nah mean?’ I was pissed…you don’t want none of this…I ain’t no sucker.”

The legendary model, born and raised in NYC as well as Jamaica, famously appeared in Lauren’s ads since his first Polo Sport campaign in Fall 1994, which launched his length career. As such, he attended the designer’s event to celebrate.

On the other hand, West had been well-known for praising

Lauren and donning his signature polo shirts at the beginning of his musical journey. Over the years, he gave the now 82-year-old designer non-stop praise for his designs and business acumen. In an interview on Sway In The Morning in November 2013, he hilariously made a comparison to host Sway’s clothing line saying, “It ain’t Ralph Tho.”

Naturally, he also attended the event to celebrate his work.

Other famous attendees of Lauren’s 50th-anniversary show and dinner at Central Park included Oprah and Tracee Ellis Ross.
