Tyler Perry Builds Luxurious $100 Million Mansion Outside Of Atlanta

Tyler Perry is giving a brand new meaning to the king of Atlanta. The media mogul is reportedly building a luxurious $100 million mansion on the city’s outskirts, with breathtaking photos circulating online, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported

Perry has been working on the project since 2013, when he purchased 856 acres in Douglas County. Since then, the 52-year-old has been renovating the 35,000-square-foot mansion.

The suburban estate sits on 12,000 acres in Douglasville, a 30-minute drive from downtown Atlanta. The home features 40,000 square feet of living space with eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Recently, photos of the mansion capturing the beautiful scenery surrounding the property were posted online.

Over the past few years, Perry has spent millions of dollars on lavish properties in the state. In 2009, the Madea actor purchased a 17-acre mansion on West Paces Ferry Road for $9 million. However, he later sold the Buckhead mansion to evangelist David Turner for $17.5 million in 2016.

In 2015, the New Orleans native acquired a 330-acre lot and transformed it into Tyler Perry Studios, Sis2Sis reported. The studio was originally the Fort McPherson Army Base from 1885 to 2011. Before its closure, the location was one of the largest command centers in the U.S. military, according to his website.

However, the building has 12 studios with multiple backlots, marking it as the only major movie studio on the east coast and one of the largest in the world.

Last month, Perry served as commencement speaker during Emory University’s 2022 commencement ceremony and received the honorary doctor of letters degree, per CNBC.

During his speech, Perry explained the importance of hard work and dedication to become successful.

“I heard a saying once that if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life,” Perry said. I’m sure you’ve heard that, but I want to challenge that because if you do what you love, you will work harder than you could ever imagine. Your dreams will call for that kind of commitment.”

He added, “As you start your life, careers, and businesses, remember that it may take a while for you to build your dream,” he shared. “This is your life. Don’t be afraid to chart your own course. Don’t be afraid to make your own way. Don’t be afraid to walk your own path and leave your own footprints.”
