Tristan Thompson appears to be stepping up financially to support his almost nine-month-old son Theo with sidechick and former trainer Maralee Nichols.
On Wednesday, Page Six exclusively reported that Tristan’s lawyer confirmed that the 31-year-old father of four has caught up on child support arrears he had with Maralee. He reportedly “is paying, and has paid, child support to Ms. Nichols retroactive to the date she delivered the child.”
Theo was born on December 1.
Although Tristan is finally cutting Maralee her checks, it does not appear that the free agent has any interest in getting to know Little Theo.
“Tristan has still made no attempt to meet his 8-month-old son, Theo,” an anonymous s insider expressed. “It was not until recently that Tristan started paying child support.”Maralee and Tristan established paternity for their son earlier this year after the fitness trainer took the baller to court for their son.
“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” he admitted in January. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son.”
Tristan also apologized to Khloe Kardashian, with whom he was romantically linked when Maralee became pregnant.
“Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. ‘My actions have certainly not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”
Khloe and Tristan recently welcomed a newborn son via surrogate. They also have a daughter, True, 4. The basketball player also has a son, Prince. The five-year-old boy’s mother is model Jordan Craig.
On August 11, Tristan took to Instagram and posted a seemingly petty post.
“I never switched sides, I switched lanes. I got wiser and realize we aren’t all built the same 🗣🗣👀 #DontTryMe”

Maralee, whether on purpose or not, wrote a fitting caption on her Instagram post from the same day.
“Less time on captions, more time on actions 🏋🏻♀️ never skip leg day #fitness,” she penned.
