Amid new paternity woes, Sacramento Kings’ Tristan Thompson has asked a Texas judge to issue a gag order in his pending paternity case with his alleged baby mama, Maralee Nichols.
On Tuesday, Us Weekly reported that the 30-year-old baller filed the injunction in Harris County, Texas. The gag order would prohibit Thompson and Nichols from publicly commenting on the ongoing paternity suit. He alleged that his former trainer breached the terms of their confidentiality agreement a magistrate verbally issued previously. Nichols filed court papers regarding paternity in June.
Thompson also accused Nichols of clout chasing, Page Six reported. He filed for the gag order three days after the 31-year-old filed her suit. He maintained that Nichols’ “intention all along [was] to try to achieve some sort of notoriety and gain for herself in this lawsuit.”
The NBA star also claimed that Nichols went to the “media” to reveal the new baby’s birth and his pending paternity cases.
Sis2Sis previously reported that the estranged pair met in March when Thompson went to Houston to celebrate his 30th birthday.
Upon discovering Nichols was pregnant, Thompson reportedly asked her to abort the baby. After she declined, the notorious skirt-chaser proposed another offer and a promise of $75,000.
“You know how I feel. My feelings haven’t changed at all. Won’t be involved at all. Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong.”
The message continued, “You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support, it will be whatever is required monthly or for someone who’s unemployed. It’s texas (sic), so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed.”
When Nichols became pregnant, he was still with his other daughter’s mother– Khloe Kardashian.
