TV Personality T.J Holmes filed for divorce on December 28 from his wife of 12 years. The news comes soon after his affair with fellow GMA3 co-host Amy Robach was brought to the public’s attention. His now ex-wife Marilee Fieberg only recently broke her silence surrounding news of the affair and divorce announcement. According to Page Six, Holmes and Robach were seen traveling together during the holiday season.
Holmes filed the official paperwork in New York, a place where the pair were often seen together while they were still married to their respective spouses. An insider for the outlet reported that Marilee was completely “blindsided” by the news of her husband at the time. Although they were separated at the time, they were supposed to be trying to work it out. “She’s devastated. She had no idea,” the insider said, explaining that the two “were just together for T.J.’s birthday.”
Since the affair has come to light, the ABC News President told the GMA3 crew that both cohosts would be removed for the time being until it’s sorted out, as previously reported by Sis2Sis. “I’m going to talk about something that has become an internal and an external distraction: The relationship between two of our colleagues,” The President said, and she specified that although it was a distraction that Holmes and Robach hadn’t broken any policies: “And so, I want to say that while that relationship is not a violation of company policy, I have really taken the last few days to think about and work through what I think is best for the ABC News organization. And so, for now, I am going to take Amy and TJ off the air while we figure this out.”
Marilee hadn’t publicly given a statement about all that had come out until recently when she posted a story to her Instagram featuring her and her daughter having fun over the holidays in Washington without Holmes. She told her followers that she was tired and that she’d “been counting down the days to this merry one” since all the drama began surrounding her and her family.
