According to RadarOnline reports, the Queen of Rock n’ Roll planned her own funeral years ago with the intention of making it bigger and better than Aretha Franklin’s. The May 25 report claimed that Tina Turner started thinking about preparations after suffering from complications following a kidney transplant.
The 2018 sources told the outlet that Turner and Franklin were rivals and that rivalry wouldn’t end after both of the legends passed. They said, “They were heated rivals in life, and Tina’s not about to let Aretha upstage her in death!”
“Tina’s picking out a designer wardrobe for her to wear while lying in repose, a custom hearse, a string of top performers and an amazing gravesite that will overshadow Aretha’s!”
Turner wasn’t afraid of dying but was adamant about going out in style. She said, “I don’t mind the thought of dying, [but make sure my send-off] eclipses Aretha’s!”
“They NEVER had a good relationship,” another source added, “[Tina saw her] swan song as an opportunity to kick a little dirt on her rival’s grave. It will be Tina’s last and biggest show ever.”
Although Turner began planning after she suffered from health issues following a kidney transplant from her husband Erwin, RadarOnline sources suggest that the pair’s feud began after rumors started that Franklin had an affair with Turner’s former husband, Ike, before their divorce. The tension allegedly only grew when Turner’s album “Private Dancer” took Franklin’s spot on the charts.
Despite Turner and Franklin’s differences, now that both have passed, Soul and Rock n’ Roll fans are feeling their absences.

Tina Turner (1939-2023) goes home! Perhaps we’ll now need another ‘Hero’. One of my very best in league with the likes of Betty Wright and Aretha Franklin. By your achievements, it is evident that ‘you came, you saw and you conquered’. Rest in Peace, Tina! pic.twitter.com/08ErP86bkG

In terms of female singers and performers. there‘s Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, and then there‘s everyone else.
RIP, Tina. Our culture has suffered a tremendous loss today.
