Tina Knowles Spills the Tea on Beyoncé’s Backstage Antics

Beyoncé, the Queen Bee, may dazzle on stage, but according to her mother, Tina Knowles, there’s a whole lot of fierceness happening behind the scenes.

In a recent appearance on “Sherri,” Knowles spilled the tea on what it’s like to witness Beyoncé in action when the spotlight isn’t shining.

“We laughed about this recently because I was saying, ‘Girl, you get really mean back there,'” Knowles said. “I am really happy that I don’t have to be back there anymore.”

Knowles, at the age of 69, didn’t hold back, putting Beyoncé’s “mean” behavior into context. She explained that it often happens in the “heat of the moment” during outfit changes and stage transitions. However, she added that Beyoncé would often express remorse after the fact.

“After we get out, she’ll say, ‘Momma, I’m so sorry.’ And I’m like, ‘I know.’ And sometimes she’d be crying — I was like, ‘She’s crying ’cause she knows she just said some crazy stuff to us,'” Knowles recalled.

Beyoncé’s “Renaissance World Tour” was a massive success, wrapping up in Kansas City after 56 dates in 39 cities, earning more than $579 million worldwide. Sherri Shepherd, the host of the show, dedicated her Halloween episode to Beyoncé, even recreating some of the tour’s iconic costumes.

But it wasn’t just Beyoncé’s fierceness that stole the show during the tour. One of the surprise highlights was Beyoncé’s 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, joining her on stage for a powerful dance routine. Blue Ivy’s determination and talent turned what was supposed to be a one-time appearance into a regular feature of the tour, much to the delight of fans.

Tina Knowles had glowing praise for her entire family of creatives, which includes daughter Solange, son-in-law Jay-Z, and granddaughter Blue Ivy. However, she didn’t shy away from describing what Beyoncé is like backstage.

“She would say, ‘I’m a —’” Knowles said, pausing for dramatic effect, ”‘in the morning,’ and I’ll be like, ‘and the evening, too!'”

Despite Beyoncé’s superstar status and record-breaking achievements, Knowles revealed that she still has to remind her daughter to watch her tone.

“Oh, all the time,” she said. “I’m like, ‘I’m the mama here. Still, to this day, because my kids are bossy like everybody’s kids — and they start thinking that they’re my mama. I have to remind them.”

While Beyoncé may have her moments of fierceness behind the scenes, there’s no denying that she’s a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Her recent “Renaissance World Tour” was captured for an upcoming concert movie titled “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” set to hit theaters on December 1st.
