Blue’s 11th birthday was January 7, and Knowles-Lawson dedicated an Instagram post to her the day after.

“The day you were born was one of the best days of my life,” Knowles-Lawson began. “I was really praying and pushing your mom to have you on January 4, which is my birthday. I really wanted you to share my birthday, but like your auntie Solo (Solange), you decided to come when you were good and damn ready, and that was on January 7, three days after my birthday.”
She continued, “Knowing you and your personality now, I realize that you needed your own day because you were such a queen, and you are so very special! You can sing, dance, play basketball, play volleyball, paint, draw, sculpt, sew, write poetry, write songs, create, act [and] play the piano! I could go on and on.”
The 69-year-old finished the post with, “Because there’s really nothing that you can’t do. You are funny and beautiful and graceful, Kind, and so smart. I could not ask for a better granddaughter Ms. Blue Ivy Carter! I could not be more blessed, grateful, and completely in love with another human. You truly bring me joy!! Grandma T.”
The pre-teen’s grandmother posted a photo of them on the beach, the same one she posted on Blue’s 10th birthday.
Eleven years after tying the knot, rapper Jay-Z and Beyoncé gave birth to Blue at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
The “Drunk in Love” singer announced her pregnancy at the 2011 VMA, where she performed “Love On Top.” She gave the first clue by telling the audience, “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.”
At the end of the performance, she dropped her mic and opened up her shimmery purple blouse to reveal her pregnant belly. The clip cut to a beaming Jay-Z applauding his wife and rapper Kanye “Ye” West clasping his shoulders and shaking him. The two would have two more children, Rumi and Sir.
