Tina Knowles-Lawson started a debate on Instagram after using Chris Rock’s experience with COVID-19 to urge her followers to get vaccinated.

Mama Tina posted a screenshot of a tweet written by Chris Rock, who revealed his COVID-19 diagnosis on Sunday.

“Hey guys, I just found out I have COVID. Trust me. You don’t want this. Get vaccinated,” the comedian wrote.

Knowles-Lawson reiterated his message in the caption and drew from her own experiences with the virus.

“Please protect yourself from serious illness and death! It might not stop you from getting it, but it will help you fight for your life,” she wrote. “I have lost too many people I love to this disease!! They didn’t have to die!”

Knowles-Lawson also addressed anti-vaxxers who might complain about peer pressure to get the shots. She knows her message is controversial.

“Nobody is trying to bully you (I’m only saying this, and I know I will be facing all of the negative comments and misinformation), but it’s okay– I’ll take the backlash because I care about you,” the passage continued.

The famous mom must be psychic because her comment section was on and popping.

Many people agreed with her.

“Thank you. I worked as a day nurse on a COVID unit, and this virus if detrimental not only to one’s health, but the emotional turmoil people experience by going through it is heartbreaking. Protect yourself and others. Let’s move past this sh-t, please,” wrote one commenter.

“You are so right, mama Tina!!! I’m tired of losing loved ones to this disease!!” said another.

Others weren’t feeling the message. Some reminded her Rock has a breakthrough case of COVID, meaning he was vaccinated before he caught the virus. According to CNN, the “Everyone Hates Chris” creator revealed he’d received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine during an interview with Jimmy Fallon in May.

“I’m not getting an experimental vaccine for a sickness that has a 99.98 survival rate,” one person said with their whole chest.

“But he’s vaccinated telling ppl he has it, and you don’t want cvd, so get vaccinated. Make it make sense,” said another confused soul.

Knowles-Lawson stuck to her guns and responded to some of the commenters.

“Goodness guys, I said it did not stop you from getting it. It just keeps the symptoms milder! And will save your life,” she commented.

She also addressed the conspiracy theorists.

“Those of you who are saying that there are many cases of people dying that have been vaccinated come on now, can you really keep that information out of the press in 2021?? Is that really possible?” she wrote.

“Think about it for a second. Use your common sense,” Mama Tina continued. “Those of you who are saying that corporations are paying Chris rock and all other celebrities to push the vaccine makes absolutely no sense!! Stop the foolishness and lies, please.”
