Timbaland and Nelly Furtado, the dynamic duo that brought us chart-topping hits in the early 2000s, have announced their comeback and put to rest rumors of a falling out.
The pair recently reunited in the studio to work on new music, reigniting the magic that made them a force to be reckoned with.
Back in 2006, Timbaland, 51, and Nelly Furtado, 44, collaborated on Furtado’s third album, Loose, which spawned a string of infectious Hip-Hop and pop fusions. Hits like “Promiscuous,” “Maneater,” and “Say It Right” dominated the airwaves and catapulted Furtado to new heights of success.
While Furtado hasn’t released an album since 2016’s The Ride, her music has experienced a resurgence thanks to a younger generation of fans discovering her hits on platforms like TikTok.
Earlier this month, Furtado revealed that she and Timbaland had a two-hour Facetime call, reminiscing about their past collaboration and teasing a potential reunion. Their fans were left eagerly anticipating what would come next.
The anticipation reached its peak when the duo surprised fans with an Instagram Live chat from the studio. Furtado declared, “We’re about to make music,” further solidifying their comeback.

Addressing rumors of a rift, they emphasized that there was never a fight or hatred between them. They admitted to having “little, tiny disagreements,” which they described as “nothing major.” According to Timbaland, any conflicts were simply “creative differences,” which Furtado deemed as “healthy.”
While Furtado has been making waves with her recent performances, returning to the stage after a five-year hiatus, her collaboration with Timbaland promises to bring a fresh energy and renewed excitement to her music.
As fans eagerly await the release of new music from this iconic duo, the memories of their past hits continue to resonate.
