Actress and comedienne Tiffany Haddish is known for her on-screen antics and witty jokes, but the 41-year-old revealed in a recent interview that her next project is preparing for motherhood. The “Girls Trip” actress and former child in foster care sat down with E! News’s Daily Pop this past week to discuss her plans to adopt, as well as the parenting classes she’s taking in the meantime.
Haddish, who’s currently in a relationship with rapper-actor Common, stated during the interview that she’s on birth control and likely won’t be giving birth anytime soon. “I’m not gon’ be a baby momma. I will be wife,” she joked.
She then went on to detail her plans for children, claiming she hopes to adopt. “So I’m taking parenting classes now to adopt,” she said, adding, “I’m looking at five and up, really like 7. I want them to be able to know how to use the restroom on their own and talk. I want them to know that I put in the work, and I wanted them.”
Speaking on surrogacy, she continued, “I won’t pay nobody to carry my baby neither because then I’d have to go through the process of injections and all that stuff.” The “Last O.G.” star then revealed “something everybody don’t know,” revealing that she once donated some of her eggs when she was struggling financially.
“When I was 21, I was really hard up on money, and I gave up a bunch of eggs. So who knows? I might got some kids out here in these streets. I doubt it, though, because I never got the bonus,” she joked on Daily Pop.

Haddish herself grew up in a foster care system, making adoption close to her heart. “I remember being in the system until I wasn’t worth anything (in state funding). When I talk to some of my comedy buddies now, they’ll say: ‘Tiffany, you ain’t never been afraid.’ And I’m thinking to myself: ‘Well, you obviously never knew me,'” she told Tampa Bay Times in 2017.
Adoption and motherhood are big responsibilities. But from the looks of it, Haddish seems more than ready to take on the role. We love this for her!
