Recent news surrounding singer The Weeknd has Black social media users and Michael Jackson fans 38-hot. A tweet claimed singer The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn” stadium tour beat the “Thriller” hitmaker’s record by becoming the best-selling tour in history by a Black artist.
Michael held the record with $311 million with inflation. The Weeknd now holds the record with $350 million in sales.

Many people ran to Twitter to express their disapproval.
Both him and Bruno Mars are wannabe MJ, he’s lucky MJ isn’t around with the technology we have today he’d double those numbers

And not one song on there is as legendary as any song on Michael’s album.

People trying to factor in inflation for Micheal Jackson’s tour are pitiful. The Weeknd doing this does not in any take away MJ’s GOAT status. Try living in the present.

Yea but Michael did it without Social media, it doesn’t compare. Just like streams & downloads don’t compare to physical CD/cassette/album sales. Today you can buy tickets from your phone on lunch break. With MJ you had to go to ticketmaster & buy the ticket in person.

Adjust it with inflation. Michael Jackson still clears

Honestly speaking, The Weeknd is basically just a half-decent MJ impersonator. He imitates his voice without any of the soul and seasoning and almost adds nothing else at all.
He’s definitely still pretty good, but how he got this popular is beyond me. Gotta respect it ig.

Despite disapproving internet users, others congratulated The Weeknd for his success and showed him love. There are many artists with similar performing styles as Michael Jackson, from the “Earned It” singer to Bruno Mars, but not many have reached this success.
