Following the shooting death of a 34-year-old Atlanta rapper, a heated debate regarding women and domestic violence trended on Twitter.
On Tuesday, Twitter user @JROD813 posted, “This whole Trouble situation is unfortunate, but ladies…please don’t have a man sleeping in your bed one week after you break up with your abusive boyfriend…who also lived at the apartment.”
The tweet accompanied an alleged photo of the Rockdale County deputy’s report taken at the scene where Trouble, born Mariel Semonte Orr, was allegedly shot and killed by the abusive ex-boyfriend of a female companion he was visiting in Conyers, Georgia, on June 5.

The tweet sparked the debate and outrage from primarily women who denounced the abusive suspect’s behavior.
Or you could not be abusive, understand that someone moved on and you do the same.

Abusive possessive ex have come back a day after break up, a week, a month a year. It’s not the womens fault.
Men take rejection with grace and move on. No need to beat up the women and kill the next.

So the victim is responsible for his actions? Let me fix your sentence: Gentlemen, please listen when a woman says she doesn’t want to be with you. Don’t attack her, or her her partner. Just leave them alone.

Let me read this right, it’s her fault that her ex is abusive and murdered her current man and assaulted her? All of it is her fault but not the actual murderer and abuser? Did I get that right?

Baby boy, the abusive bf is the problem in this situation. Anything else is victim blaming.

I see what you wrote, but I just know what you meant is, “niggas, focus on getting a job, your own place & intensive therapy, so you don’t get put out, go on a murderous rampage & end up letting the state provide you with 3 hots & a cot for life.”

You really said this BS and meant it? pic.twitter.com/UtW0HN60JC

Other Twitter users failed to see that the onus of safety doesn’t fall on the victims. They thought the tweet served as a valid warning for women.
Why everytime a nigga preach preventative measures and being careful people gotta go “teach killers not to be killers” like the latter not impossible

One guy was promptly corrected when he miswrote facts, but he opted to double down on foolishness anyway.
“[It’s] not her fault he shot and killed trouble but damn, the man still had keys to the place. It was literally his place of residence, and she got another man [in] there sleep. Wth”

Another Twitter user clarified the facts in the case.
He broke into the house

This is why you let that man beat her up and you just leave. Definitely don’t be fighting over the chick you hit after the club, a week removed from living with a nigga. One man dead. One going to prison, and somebody else will be in that same bed in a week or so. Facts

I get what you are saying my G but damn black women and weirdo men are going to drag you because they will say you are blaming her but neglect the fact that he still had KEYS to that apartment. This could have been avoided pic.twitter.com/OBKMwNy5bi

Early Sunday morning, Trouble reportedly was shot in the chest after 33-year-old Jamichael Jones, 33, allegedly forced his way into a Lake St. James Apartment, according to Rockdale County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jedidia Canty. Jamichael had been involved with the female resident for three years, but the two had broken up a week before the rapper visited the woman. She told police that the suspect lived with her before she kicked him out after he assaulted her during an argument regarding his unemployment and lack of responsibility in the home.
The female victim also told Rockdale County deputies that she called the police but didn’t file charges because Jamichael left the scene at the time.
Shortly after 3 a.m., the suspect kicked in the door and attacked the woman as she slept. Deputies noted that she had “visible injuries on her face consistent with being struck.” A fight ensued between Jamichael and Trouble, who had been in bed sleeping with the female victim, and the 33-year-old abusive ex brandished a firearm, firing a single shot at the rapper, hitting him. He died at the scene.
On the evening of June 4, Trouble posted an ominous video on Instagram that was seemingly a premonition of what was to come.
“Jus’ some late night game fa yo Brain! An’ it go Both ways. Lemme kno if I’m wrong or right 😒〽️〽️🅱️,” he captioned the post.
In the video, he said, “I’m a give you some street wisdom. A real ni**a don’t give no f**k ’bout yo’ past, right. Nothin’ bout what happened before me. But the reason why a lot of y’all don’t get taken serious ’cause y’all be consistently f**kin’ two, three of dem ni**as like we don’t be knowin’.”

The rapper’s label, Def Jam, posted a tribute to the fallen emcee, also known as Skoob, on Sunday.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the children, loved ones, and fans of Trouble. A true voice for his city and an inspiration to the community he proudly represented. RIP Skoob🙏🏾”

Jamichael turned himself into the Rockdale Sheriff’s office on Tuesday. The suspect was charged with home invasion, felony murder and aggravated assault. A Rockdale County magistrate denied him bond.
