The RIAA Has Certified “Bodak Yellow” As A Diamond Platinum Single, Making Cardi B. The First Female Rapper Ever To Do So

Cardi B just keeps going “Up.” On Monday, the Bronx rapper revealed that she had a surprise for her fans.

I need a moment guys… I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow and I’ll be reposting. I’m too emotional to see all these beautiful tweets,” she wrote.

The “Up” rapper,

fresh off her Twitter deactivation, disclosed her 2017 hit single “Bodak Yellow” is a certified diamond hit.

The historical RIAA milestone is a first. Her breakout single is the first rap single to earn the coveted status.

The bop went 10-times platinum and has sold the same number of units. Cardi B is the first female rapper in RIAA history to achieve the landmark honor.

The organization posted a congratulatory tweet on Tuesday morning. Also, Cardi earned an award for the “WAP,”– which is five-times platinum.

“I know I’ve been rehearsing all day today. I’m really stressed out. My body’s aching,” Cardi said. “At rehearsal, they said to me, ‘Yo, you gotta meet up with Atlantic execs.’ I’m like, ‘Yo; I’m fucking tired like I don’t wanna talk about no Grammys, I don’t wanna talk about no album, I’m just tired.”

“I just wanna say thank you guys so much because, without you guys, this wouldn’t have happened,” Cardi said. “This really made my day and really uplifted me for this crazy performance. I know you guys are gonna be really happy.”

Congratulations, Cardi.
