The Proud Family reboot, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, which is set to premiere in 2022, is amping up the cast with more recurring cast members and adding guest stars.
According to Shadow and Act, the popular 2000’s show’s reboot will feature guest stars including Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Chance the Rapper, Normani, Leslie Odom Jr., Gabrielle Union, Jaden Smith, Brenda Song, Tina Knowles, Eva Longoria, Al Roker, Bretman Rock, and many more.
Its recurring cast members will be Asante Blackk as Penny’s boyfriend, Kareem; rapper “A Boogie” Dubose as Maya’s brother, Francis “KG” Leibowitz-Jenkins; Raquel Lee Bolleau will take on her role as Nubia Gross; and Marcus T. Paulk, who will reprise his role as Myron.
Some of the cast members who are reprising roles from the original show are Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, and JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, as well as many others.
The show celebrated its 20th anniversary by featuring some of the stars talking about how The Proud Family impacted and influenced their lives.

Singer Normani said that the show reflected her own family household and that she even calls her grandmother “Sugar Mama” “because it’s literally what my household looked like.”
E.J. Johnson, a new cast member, said that the show “was a huge part of my childhood, and I hold that very dear to my heart.”
Blackk added to the same notion and said that “the different characters and personalities in the show reflected what was going on in my home.”
Keke Palmer, who’s also a new character, stated, “even though it was on a kids network, it still had the right amount of edge for it to be accessible to everybody.”
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is set to carry on the original plot of the series, including Penny Proud and her family: parents Oscar and Trudy, her twin siblings CeCe and BeBe, and her grandma Sugar Mama. The show will also feature her entreauge Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, as well as some others.
