After 15 years, fans thought they were finally getting a sequel to the coming-of-age film ATL II, according to VIBE. A teaser trailer was made for an intended sequel in 2015, but the project has been in development ever since.
Rapper and star of the original ATL, T.I. confirmed that a sequel was in the works in 2015, but the project apparently became stuck in “development hell.”
Chance The Rapper tweeted the old teaser trailer, and fans wondered if the trailer was for ATL II. The film’s director, Chris Robinson, fed the frenzy when he responded to Chance The Rapper’s post on Instagram on Aug 27.
He hinted that a sequel could again be in the works. Robinson also shared the trailer and tagged the film’s stars, T.I., Lauren London, Evan Ross, Jackie Long, Malika Haqq, Khadijah Haqq McCray, Big Boy, Jason Weaver, Albert Daniels and Ruben Bailey.

The original movie was based on the film’s producers, Dallas Austin and T-Boz. It’s unclear if and when the sequel will happen, but we will keep you posted.
