Desiree Lindstrom, the fiancée of DMX, posted a sweet video on Instagram with his son, Exodus, honoring the late rapper on Father’s Day. DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, passed away on April 9 from a heart attack. The rapper was only 50.
“SCREAMING HAPPY FATHERS DAY ALL THE WAY TO THE HEAVENS ABOVE…! Earl you were such an amazing, protective, loving, inspiring, hands on, incredible father! I thank God that @exodus_simmons1had a father like you! I appreciate every moment you had spent with Exodus.”
DMX did not leave a will, and Lindstrom reportedly applied to be named the late rapper’s common-law wife, which would have given her seniority over his 14 other children when it came to controlling his estate. However, her application was dismissed by a judge, who ruled that Lindstrom had no standing for her application.
DMX had four of his children with his ex-wife, Tashera Simmons. Three of her children, Sean, 19, Tacoma, 21, and 28-year-old Xavier Simmons, have petitioned to be administrators of their father’s estate in New York. He also has two daughters from other relationships who petitioned to be executors of the estate, Jada Odeon and Sasha Simmons.

Exodus Simmons was born in 2016, making him the 15th child of DMX. The late rapper had 14 other children with nine women and was sued in 2012 for not providing enough support to one, but the case was later settled for $1 million. DMX suffered from substance abuse and spent time in rehab for the last time in 2016.
DMX spent a week in the hospital after suffering from an overdose. His brain was deprived of oxygen for more than 30 minutes following the overdose, and his organs began to shut down while he was on life support.
Along with being a musician, DMX starred in several films, including Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds and Beyond The Law.
The court will review documents and decide on the estate’s administrators on July 15.
