The Detroit Free Press believes Drake is deceiving his fans, as the Toronto rapper says he was fined more than $230,000 for staying late for his event at Little Caesars Arena.
Drake performed at the Detroit stadium, where he paused in the middle of his set to inform his crowd that if he went over the permitted time for his performance, he would be fined $10,000 per minute.
“It’s $10,000 a minute to stay in this building past curfew,” he said to the audience. “But I don’t give a f–. We’re doing this whole song. Let’s go.”
Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour stopped in Detroit on July 8 and 9, and the video containing his allegations was published the next day, July 10, by Hip Hop XD.
According to the paper’s fact check, the Detroit Free Press, the city’s most renowned newspaper owned by USA Today’s parent company, researched the length fine and discovered Drake was lying.

“We’ll point out there actually is no curfew at Little Caesars Arena, but hey — what’s a little feel-good embellishment among 20,000 of your closest admirers?” The Detroit Free Press wrote in its review of the show.
If Drake were to lie to his Detroit fans, his goals may be tied to solidarity with the city, given his Toronto heritage and close relationship to the Motor City.
Fans at the Detroit show were throwing bras at the rapper, who politely requested women to stop.
He also revealed details about his next album, “For All The Dogs,” on which longtime friend and labelmate Nicki Minaj will appear.
“I’m gonna give away one thing for you tonight, because I got a lot of love for Detroit,” the Toronto rapper said on stage. “So I’m gonna have to tell you that me and Nicki Minaj did our first song together in, like, a really long time. I got a lot of love for her. Okay. Let me just assess the titties tonight, and then, we’ll get to the most important part.”
