“That Was Dumb & Embarassing”: Amanda Seales Blasts Kamala Harris For Claiming America Isn’t A Racist Country

Vice President Kamala Harris ruffled feathers last week when she said she doesn’t think America is a racist county, agreeing with Republican Senator Tim Scott. Actress, comedian and Black activist Amanda Seales posted a video on her Instagram last week, dragging the VP for her comments and calling her “dumb and embarrassing.”

During an interview on Good Morning America, Harris was asked whether she shared Scott’s opinion, who was first to claim “America is not a racist country.”

The second-in-command leader responded, partially agreeing with the senator, “No. I don’t think America is a racist country, but we also do have to speak truth about the history of racism in our country and its existence today.”

While Harris mentioned the deep-rooted racist history in America, many felt the politician didn’t do enough to acknowledge it. Seales, known for her role on HBO’s Insecure and brief stint on The Real, came for Harris directly on social media, letting her know how disappointed she was.

“Okay, so everybody on some bulls**t. Cool,” the 39-year-old entertainer

said. “That was dumb and embarrassing. And she embarrassed everybody who has supported her.”

Continuing to express her opinion in her photo caption, Seales continued, “Damn, Kamala. The paradoxical political pandering is TIRED and insulting to the constituency that supported you along with affirming the doubts of those that didn’t. Please fix this ASAPtuously.”

Last September, two months after President Joe Biden named Harris as his VP pick, Seales took her Twitter to defend the former California senator against online hate, saying “STOP SAYING KAMALA HARRIS IS JUST AS BAD DONALD TRUMP. JUST STOP. SHIT IS NOT ACCURATE OR HELPFUL AND ANNOYING AF.”

We doubt she’ll be in Harris’ corner anytime soon.

Let us know your thoughts in the reactions and comments below and whether you agree with Seales.
