It looks like there was trouble in paradise for Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert that they tried to cover.

TMZ reported the actress secretly filed for divorce almost a year ago, claiming his jealousy and narcissism contributed to the ending of their seven-year marriage.

This means that Teyana’s separation announcement on Instagram came out after she filed for divorce.

According to the outlet, the court documents initially had their initials, but Iman’s recent filing included their full names. 

In the divorce filing, Teyana claimed the demise of their marriage stemmed from his jealousy of her fame and insecurity about being good for her. The NBA player would be irritated at public events because much of the attention would be on Teyana, not the baller. His ego would be hurt whenever photographers would ask him to step out of the frame.

The “Gonna Love Me” singer alleged the NBA player would send negative, condescending and manipulative messages to her anytime she was in the spotlight. The alleged immature Iman reportedly would start ludicrous fights with her, even on her birthdays and then give an apology after the damage had already been done.

To affix his bruised ego, the goddess would “intentionally dim her light” for her allegedly toxic husband to calm his tits. Iman would get mad when she worked, leading her to turn down fantastic recording opportunities, but he’d get angry when she wasn’t working.

Meanwhile, his allegedly insecure self signed a $40 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and obtained $8 million from the New York Knicks.

Teyana allegedly tried to help his ass get gigs in Hollywood when his NBA career was headed toward the dumpster, and he reportedly continued emotionally and mentally abusing her.

Teyana alleged that Iman had been involved in several cheating scandals during the marriage, a DUI arrest and an arrest for weed possession in an airport. 

She began the divorce process in 2021 and had her legal team do the filing in 2022 but withdrew it the following day.

January was when she stuck to her guns and filed for divorce.

Iman attempted to win his beau back, begging to work things out and get back together, only for him to jump into another cheating schedule.

As Sis2Sis reported, in September, Teyana announced on Instagram that she and her “bestie” were separating, stating infidelity wasn’t a reason for their split, which was false.
