Grant, who’s had his own established career in competitive sports, reportedly cheered his daughter on from the crowd, Deadspin reported. Sharing how proud he is on Twitter, the 49-year-old father wrote several days after the MMA win, “
4 days later, and I’m still in awe of my daughter Myla’s performance in her first amateur MMA fight,”“She was focused, composed (which her mother and I were not before & during the fight), aggressive & clearly not afraid of the moment inside the octagon. #TeamMyla #ProudDad,” the NBA star continued.
Myla, who played basketball in high school, is now making a name for herself in the mixed martial arts community. Sharing her passion for the sport on Instagram, she posted pictures from October’s fight with the Instagram caption, “on top soon!”
