The daughter of former Detroit Pistons player Grant Hill and R&B singer-songwriter Tamia, 19-year-old Myla Hill, recently made her MMA debut, fighting in the sport’s amateur category. According to Deadspin, the proud parents watched as Myla defeated Jenna Loza and took home her first win, with her opponent tapping out in a submission during their first round.
Myla went against Loza during the Rival Fight League: Halloween Havoc in Lakeland, Florida. On Friday night, Oct. 29, the pair kicked off their caged fight by throwing several blows. Eventually, Myla got her opponent on the ground, with Louza tapping out soon after.
This is Myla Hill. She is 19. She just won her amateur MMA debut in Lakeland, Fla.
She is also the daughter of basketball legend @realgranthill33. Incredible.

Grant, who’s had his own established career in competitive sports, reportedly cheered his daughter on from the crowd, Deadspin reported. Sharing how proud he is on Twitter, the 49-year-old father wrote several days after the MMA win, “4 days later, and I’m still in awe of my daughter Myla’s performance in her first amateur MMA fight,”
4 days later, and I’m still in awe of my daughter Myla’s performance in her first amateur MMA fight. She was focused, composed (which her mother and I were not before & during the fight), aggressive & clearly not afraid of the moment inside the octagon. #TeamMyla #ProudDad https://t.co/Dx7slboFnF
