Tabitha Brown politely told Wendy Williams to mind her business after the talk show host criticized Brown for retiring her husband. Brown’s husband was a police officer for the LAPD for 15 years and supported her while pursuing her dreams.
The veteran media personality thought Brown’s husband was a no-good, lazy adulterer like her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.
“I was married to one of those,” she said. “‘I make the money!’ and so on and so forth. ‘Go live your dreams! Open a business! Go, go, go!’ See how that turned out? I predict that this marriage is going to be on real rocky ground in a moment. They may invest in stuff and lose the money. Then they invest again and he comes home and throws his bag down. She’s like ‘What? What?’ And he’s like, ‘I can’t do this and this is your fault. You’re over here making your money and stuff and had me quit my job.'”
Brown, an actress, author and social media influencer, also hosts a show on IGTV with her husband, Chance Brown, called Tab & Chance. She clapped back at Williams with her Auntie-like sweet voice after learning of Williams’ comments regarding Chance.
“Wendy the pain you must be in to feel this way, honey, I’m so sorry. But listen, let me tell you this. Twenty-three years I’ve been with my husband, broke for a very long time together. Struggled for a very long time together. Succeeded for the last couple of years together,” she said.
She said that her husband took a job as a police officer 15 years ago to help her support her dreams and that they agreed when she became successful, he could retire to pursue his dreams.

“He took a job 15 years ago to help support my dream. And I know you may not know what it looks like,” she said. “I was his dog in the fight and he believed in me and we did it together for the last 15 years. I did every year with him in the LAPD and he did every year with me with rejection and nos in this entertainment industry, right? However, God has blessed me…I’ve been praying on this for a very long time and it has now come to pass. That is the power of God. It’s also the power of allowing God to be first in your marriage. That’s how it remains successful, we keep Him first. He is first in our marriage. Not money, not business, not success, but God. He’s first.”
“I pray that someone will love you enough to see you when you are not well, to see when you need true support, to see you when you need compassion, to see you when you need kindness. I pray that somebody loves you enough to sacrifice their life for you. I pray that type of love finds you so that you can understand why I don’t want my husband to put his life on the line anymore, wearing a bulletproof vest if he don’t have to, and if it’s not his desire.”
Brown ended the video (and Williams) by saying that folks should have a good day, but if they could not, try not to ruin anyone else’s.
Black Twitter loved what Brown had to say, and while many thought that her words were kind, they noted that the read was savage.
I’ve always found Tabitha Brown more than slightly terrifying and it would appear that today Wendy Williams found out why. So much honey, you don’t even taste the poison.

Everybody being like “Tabitha Brown was so wholesome in that video to Wendy” clearly didn’t know when a certain type of southern woman has threatened their lives before

My prayer is that the Lord grants me the grace to read people like Tabitha Brown did Wendy Williams.

Brown recently landed a role on The Chi after pursuing acting for twenty years. She credited being natural for her newfound success and said that she was exhausted straightening her hair to be acceptable.
“For so many years, I wasn’t living my life as a free woman. I always had to conform to what I thought the world wanted me to be, for corporate America to Hollywood,” Tabitha asserts. “From covering my accent to wearing my hair straight. I was told to always be on a diet and be skinny or be a size 2; I was always trying to do what I thought that [people] wanted to see.”
