T.I. responded to footage of his son King Harris in a verbal dispute with waffle house employees after they allegedly messed up his order.
The incident occurred earlier this month when the 17-year-old started recording the dispute on Instagram live. In the clip, King was sitting in the back of a car assessing his order when he found out the worker added pickles to his order, XXL Magazine reported.
Moments later, he became angered over the situation and decided to address the issue inside the restaurant.
“I’m ’bout to go in here and J down. They got me f**ked up,” King told his followers as he walked into the restaurant. “N***a think I won’t jump across that table. Aight. Watch this.”
After walking into the establishment, King addressed the matter in a profanity-laced exchange with one of the Waffle House workers. However, things escalated after someone told him cursing was not permitted inside the restaurant chain.
“I can talk how the f**k I want to wherever I’m at,” the teen shouted back. “I’m on live, shorty. Stop talking to me. This ain’t your f**king restaurant. Everything you make, I can pull out my pocket right now. I ain’t typing on you. Get the hell out my face. I’m not talking to you.”
“My name King. You know it, and your mama know it,” King added.
One worker invited the Atlanta native to the cooking area of the eatery to engage in a fight, prompting the teen to stand on top of the counter and accept the offer. “Come here, I’ll show you what I can do,” he yelled repeatedly.
The altercation shifted outside as King continued to taunt the worker, threatening to return and “pistol-whip” him after the employee’s shift was over.
On Saturday, the “Bring Em Out” rapper addressed the incident on video, condemning his son’s actions at the Waffle House location.
“Of course, I spoke with my son. Me and his uncles,” the rapper claimed. “We were perplexed by his necessity to go back and forth with the short-order cook. I didn’t understand why he felt he needed to stop what he was doing to engage someone who’s at another level of life.”
He continued, “I had to explain to him that when people are not living like the way. They hoped they would live and here you [are] walking in enjoying so much freedom and luxury and, you know, people are going to posture themselves a certain way. So therefore, you are going to have to enjoy your life. You have to remove yourself from that energy and go enjoy your life.”
In the video, T.I. also questioned, “Why in the hell is it more newsworthy to report that the man got into an argument with a f-cking short-order cook and less important to speak about the fact he graduated with honors and the A and B honor roll at 17. Not even 18 yet.” He added, “I don’t understand what world we’re living in, when this is what we’d rather promote?”
Last week, the Harris family celebrated King graduating high school with honors, Sis2Sis reported. The 41-year-old and his wife, Tiny, shared photos on their respective Instagram accounts and congratulated their son on his academic achievement.
