Rolison is the daughter of Tionne Watkins (T-Boz) and rapper Mack 10. The couple married in August 2000 before T-Boz filed for divorce in 2004, seeking full custody of the then 3-year-old Robinson. T-Boz said Mack 10 threatened to kill her several times.
Before her baby girl was born, her mother revealed her sickle cell anemia diagnosis. Watkins said she was told she wouldn’t live past 30 and couldn’t have children.
T-Boz has been very vocal about raising sickle cell awareness. In her memoir A Sick Life — TLC’ n Me: Stories from On and Off the Stage, the R&B star revealed how the disease has impacted her life and how her kids helped her.
Rolison was diagnosed with Lupus. In a 2020 interview with Jen DeLeon, she shared her story and advice for people living with life-threatening diseases.
When asked about her mother’s best advice, Rolison said, “Always keep your head up and stay strong no matter what…and stay humble.”
