SZA has solidified her spot as one of the leading R&B artists of our time with her recent win at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The highly anticipated event, hosted by legendary musician Lenny Kravitz, was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and showcased the biggest and brightest stars in the music industry.
SZA was awarded the coveted title of R&B Artist of the Year, beating out some tough competition in the category.
But that wasn’t the only award that SZA took home that night. Her chart-topping hit “I Hate You” was also named R&B Song of the Year, further cementing her status as one of the most talented artists in the genre.
The song has resonated with fans worldwide, and its catchy lyrics and infectious beat have made it a fan favorite.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards also recognized other talented artists in various categories.
Future, Tems, and Drake took home the Hip-Hop Song of the Year award for their hit track “Wait For You.” Wizkid and Tems tied for Afrobeats Artist of the Year, while Drake was crowned Hip-Hop Artist of the Year. Latto and GloRilla tied for Best New Hip-Hop Artist, and Muni Long won Best New R&B Artist.
LL Cool J ICON Award Recipient P!NK, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Latto, Muni Long, Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin, Donald Faison, H.E.R., Joel McHale, Jordan Davis, Nicole Scherzinger, Nikki Glaser, Phoebe Bridgers, and TLC were among the special guests who made appearances throughout the night.
The 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards were executive produced by Joel Gallen, for Tenth Planet; and John Sykes, Tom Poleman, and Bart Peters, for iHeartMedia.
The event is available to stream on Hulu through April 17, allowing fans who couldn’t attend the event to experience the excitement and energy of the night.
