SWV, the iconic R&B trio consisting of Coko, Lelee, and Taj, received a remarkable honor on Saturday as they were inducted into the prestigious Bronx Walk of Fame.
Despite the persistent rain, Coko, Lelee, and Taj proudly stood beneath oversized umbrellas as they unveiled the street sign that would forever commemorate their contribution to music. The significance of the moment was not lost on the trio, as they expressed their heartfelt appreciation for their beloved Bronx.
In an Instagram post, Coko, 52, reflected on the surreal weekend and the honor bestowed upon her and Lelee.
She wrote, “Never in a million years would I have imagined something like this happening to Cheryl Elizabeth from Forest Ave. This feels so good being recognized by my city. BX stand up!”
Lelee, 49, also shared her excitement about the induction, highlighting the deep connection she feels to the Bronx.
She expressed her pride and joy, stating, “As an adult, I still carry the X with me with honor and pride. I’m so happy that we’re finally gonna be a part of history and amongst the many reasons why the BRONX is so special!”
