Swizz Beatz Shades Artists Who Overcharge During Verzuz Battles, ‘Ain’t Did A Show In 23 Summers’

Last Thursday night, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia went head-to-head in the latest Verzuz battle. And while many were discussing

the heated argument and onstage brawl between the two rap groups, others were tuned into Swizz Beatz’s live comments during the event – where the famed music producer shared his thoughts on music artists overcharging to participate in Verzuz events.

According to screenshots obtained by The Shade Room, Swizz Beatz sounded off in the comments about a few grievances during last week’s live event, revealing, “Artists be acting all the way out talking about I’m not going on stage until my favorite cup is in my room.”

Swizz Beatz, who started the Verzuz battles along with fellow producer Timbaland last year, continued in another comment, “Ain’t did a show in 23 summers and want to charge us like the sold-out stadium prices! Talking about yesterday’s price is not today price sh*t.”

Calling out musicians for showing up to venues drunk and late, the “It’s Me B**ches” rapper added, “Coming on stage after getting paid ten shows in 1 Verzuz just to get on stage drunk AF and late, I’m just saying…New rule: If you don’t start on time, you don’t get paid on time!!!! Verzuz is not free! They charge us 5x they do non-Black shows,”

The Grammy award-winning producer then turned his attention back to the show, saying, “This was amazing, one of my FAV Verzuz ever!!!!!”

Though it’s unclear who he was referring to, Bizzy Bone reportedly stated that it couldn’t have been Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on his Instagram story.

“None of us were drunk, and we were all on time,” the Ohio-born rapper stated. “Now it did get lit, but wasn’t us.”

Adding more context, Swizz Beatz shared via a comment on The Shade Room’s Instagram, “I was having fun last night it wasn’t that serious !!!!!!!! I love the show last night. It was the real energy of Hip Hop, which is sometimes needed! Much love, Bone & 36 y’all went TF off!!!! I do, in fact, have my comments on many things in general, but last night was lit! Respect.”

What do you think about Swizz Beatz going off during the live Verzuz event? Sound off in the comments.
