Summer Walker’s Boyfriend Responds To Viral Video Involving Kevin Gates

Summer Walker’s boyfriend responded to a viral clip featuring the R&B singer and rapper Kevin Gates.

On Tuesday, a Twitter user posted a video that captured Gates getting a little too comfortable with Walker at what appeared to be an afterparty following one of her shows. The clip showed Gates sitting next to Walker in her section, where he attempted to pull her in closer while talking in her ear. Instead, she politely moved away from him after putting his arm around her shoulder.

Walker’s boyfriend, LVRD Pharoah, took to Instagram on Saturday and posted a photo of him and the “Over It” singer, assuring that the 25-year-old was in good hands with him.

“She Good Bro 😂❤️👅,” he wrote in the caption.

Since the video surfaced, the “In My Feelings” artist has faced backlash for his actions, prompting Twitter users to call out Gates for his cringe behavior in the 21-second clip.

“I know this ain’t the same Kevin Gates who don’t like to be touched, touching all over Summer Walker” the Twitter user said

A second user pointed out that Walker’s body language was a clear sign that she was uncomfortable during the encounter.

“Read her body language: she is gently pushing him away and she’s also gently pulling her hand back. He keeps grabbing her hand…. She isn’t feeling that. This actually makes me look at him differently now.”

“She’s said so many times how people in her personal space is a trigger. He was dead wrong. People who defend him lack respect of boundaries as well,” a third user explained.

The user who initially posted the video of Gates also shared a 2016 clip of the rapper as he brushes off Atlanta radio DJ Traci Steele.

While fans insisted that Gates and Steele weren’t on good terms at the time, another Twitter user posted a video of Gates explaining the awkward moment.

“Look, my dog asked me the other day, he said, ‘How come, when that girl touched you, you wiped your shoulder off like this?’ I said, ‘First of all, I’m married. Second of all, I’m holy. Don’t put your dirty-ass hands on me,'” Gates explained in the clip.
