Stars Spotted At Bottega Veneta’s Salon 03 Fashion Show & Firehouse In Detroit

For his third Bottega Veneta “Salon” presentation, Daniel Lee headed to the city of Detroit. Salon 03 featured a star-studded guest list.

The latest show followed the secret “Salon 02” runway that took place in Berlin‘s Berghain nightclub. Salon is Bottega Veneta’s main ready-to-wear presentation first introduced in October 2020.

With a front-row audience including stars like Lil Kim, Mary J. Blige and Kehlani, Bottega Veneta’s event served as an ode to Detroit and took place at the Michigan Building, a former theater. This was a perfect location for the stars to show off their shine.

Lee, creative director of Bottega Veneta, chose Detroit when he visited six years ago and has wanted to collaborate with Detroiters creatively ever since.

In addition to the presentation, the fashion house unveiled a new retail space dubbed Firehouse open through January 16, 2022. The hub includes a record store, reading room and more created in collaboration with Detroit-based creatives.

The stage revealed a range of looks inspired by American sportswear and workwear. Models strutted the runway to DJ Moodymann, a Detroit native who served up plenty of techno music—a genre that was birthed and boomed within the Midwest city.

Exaggerated silhouettes took over the runway with ruched details on the sleeves of voluminous jackets and matching trousers. Focusing on design construction, the pieces were crafted with metal yarn. The general muted gray palette was paired with Bottega Veneta’s signature acid green on select jackets and dresses.

For footwear and accessories, Lee debuted a new triangular sandal toe and sling-back silhouette equipped with sneaker technology. The styles were paired with soft, puffy bags.

Detroit has always been a city that appreciates design and is led by innovation and this collaboration with the Detroit community intends to celebrate just that.
