Jamaican Reggae star Spice cleared up pregnancy speculations following an apparent maternity shoot that went viral online, where she showed off a baby bump and posed with a stroller. On March 17, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Dancehall” revealed that she wasn’t pregnant, despite all the congratulatory messages.
Spice explained in a video that what looked like a maternity photo shoot was just meant to signify her own rebirth, not an actual pregnancy. She began, “Big up to Father God. Big up to Jesus. He literally gave me a new life, and that’s what I’m celebrating. That’s all it is.”
“It was just about celebrating my new life. Giving God glory,” She continued to explain after adding that she didn’t mean to offend anyone who struggles with infertility, “Giving God thanks for this new life. New Journey. Second rebirth, I’m a brand new person. I feel rejuvenated.”

Additionally, Spice opened up about her complications after a hernia surgery last year and that she almost didn’t pull through. After going into sepsis shock, doctors saved her by opening her chest and reviving her.

Following the incident, Spice detailed what happened and her recovery in an Instagram post from back in November. The caption read, “Thank you, Jesus, for saving my life. I suffered a damage hernia a few days ago that sent my body into sepsis. As a result, I was rushed to the hospital for immediate surgery. As you know, I’ve been off Social Media for a while to rest mentally, so little did I know that during my medical scare, it was already been said that I had a heart attack, I was in a Coma, and I also died, but none of that is true.”
“However, I’m still recovering from what really happened, so thanks so much for all the prayers and concerns, please take great care of yourself, eat, live, love laugh, like it’s your last day, I LOVE YOU ALL SO SO MUCH.”
