A popular South African actress suddenly passed away on July 10.
Netflix series breakout star of How To Ruin Christmas Busisiwe Lurayi died inside her home from an unknown cause, according to a statement from the South African talent agency that managed her.
Eye Media Artists disclosed the tragic news via Instagram with the caption, ”Rest in peace, @busi_lurayi.”
“We are deeply saddened to notify you of the passing of our beloved Busisiwe Lurayi. Busisiwe passed away suddenly and was pronounced dead at her residence on Sunday [July 10, 2022] by medical personnel.”
“The reason for her death is still unknown as we await the results of the autopsy report,” the statement continued. “We humbly request that you allow us as the family to come to terms with this tragic news.”

The 36-year-old three-time South African Film and Television Award winner recently starred in the 2020 hit Netflix series How To Ruin Christmas. The two-season show completed a successful run on the streaming service with Lurayi, the lead in the show defined as “free-spirited Tumi always manages to make a mess of things,” highlighting the family dynamic of two South African families.
Lurayi was also a doting mother, often celebrating her gorgeous daughter on IG.
